The name Maya (pronounced as May-ah) was an idea of mommy. Although she heard of the name before it wasn't till mommy saw the name in one of her magazines during a washroom break that it became one of the options. Daddy thought the name was so pretty that it ruled out any other name that they already had found for me. In Greek and Roman mythology Maya was the eldest of the Pleiades, the group of seven stars in the constellation Taurus, who were the daughters of Atlas and Pleione. Her son by Zeus was Hermes.

The name Lynn was an idea of both mommy and daddy. Mommy always wanted to use her grandma's middle name, which is Linea, for one of her girls. But both mommy and daddy didn't think it was a good fit with my first name. Than daddy came up with the idea to make a short version of Linea, which is Lynn. Mommy thought that was a great idea and my full name was official. Lynn is the Welsh word for "lake".
